能「邯鄲」

中国の故事を題材にした人気曲。
盧生は尊い仏道の師を求める旅の途中、邯鄲の里で宿の女主人より不思議な枕を借りて、粟のご飯が炊けるまでの間、床に就く。
しかし不思議な事に盧生の事を起こしにきたのは勅使であった。
そして盧生は王位を継ぎ玉座につく。
盧生は50年の栄華を過ごし、宮殿では在位50年の祝宴が催される。
盧生は自ら舞い、栄耀栄華の極みを謡う。
しかしそれはすべて夢、気づけば女主人が粟飯が炊けたと起こしにきている。
それは食事ができるまでの「一炊の夢」だった。
栄枯盛衰は所詮夢にすぎないと悟った盧生は、心穏やかに故郷に帰っていくのだった。
ちなみに邯鄲の里とは中国の戦国時代の趙の都市であり、現河北省南部に位置している。

Noh “Kantan”

This is a piece based on a historical fact in China.

Rosei borrows a wondrous pillow from the mistress of an inn in the village of Kantan on the way to a trip on a quest for a noble master of Buddhism, and goes to bed while he waits for the chestnut rice to be cooked.

However, oddly, the person who wakes him up is an imperial messenger and Rosei succeeds to the throne and sits on the throne.
Then Rosei spends 50 years in glory, and a banquet to celebrate his 50 years of reign is held at the palace.

Rosei dances willingly and he sings the extreme of luxury.
However it is all just a dream. The mistress comes to wake him up informing him the chestnut rice is ready when he wakes.

It was just “An empty dream” which was a short moment till the meal was prepared.
Realizing prosperity and decline are just a dream, Rosei goes back to his hometown with a calm heart.

For your information, the village of Kantan indicates a city in Zhao, China in the era of battle and it is located in the current south of Hebei Province.
